Who are your favorite people to be around?

Ah, writing prompts, the easiest way to approach daily writing, yet, it’s my first time using a prompt for that reason.

The prompt asked about my favorite people to be around. Being around people can be so annoying and draining at times that I forget how much I enjoy the company of others.

I like what I like, but I can be moody and desire alone time, to reset and recharge. What would my favorite personalities be and do these personalities shape how I see the world; how I see myself in the world?

One fave person I have in my mind, is my best friend of 10+ years. This person has a strong, dominant personality. That means, I often experience an automatic leader within any friend group or team. Luckily, my best friend has a way with people. They can express themselves with authority and authenticity, while remaining sensitive to the emotions of others. I admire that.

Another fave person of mine, is one who makes me laugh and think, and sometimes cringe. This person can be spicy and snappy, but sweet and charming. If you catch this person without a shirt, you’ve found them in their element. They love to show off their body, celebrating their expression of healthy love and sexuality. But that’s not all, this person is a HOOT at parties.. until someone gets sick. 😬

Other favorite people aren’t people I know personally. But personalities I admire or aspire to be.

Artists, Philosophers, Psychics and Talk Show hosts.

I love people like Amanda Seeles, Elizabeth April, and KeKe Palmer. Raven Symonè and Tyra Banks (don’t judge me!) Lol, I love great actors that make me feel things, like Viola Davis and Taraji P.

I love reading stories and jumping into other worlds, like the ones Octavia Butler writes, in Kindred and the Parables Series.  I love Collin’s Hunger Games series, LIVED for the Mockingjay! And Catching Fire!

I love thrills and chills, like the ones from Peele. GET OUT, US, and NOPE were complex masterpieces of the genre, which includes horror with themes that Black Folx can relate to – or enjoy all the same.

I love difference-makers and rule-breakers. My favorites are Iniko – the music and vocal range is UNMATCHED.

Billie Eilish and Doja Cat, 💁🏾‍♀️. I mean, do I have to explain??

This list can go on, but I’m not sure where it will lead. For now, I’ll leave this prompt as it is.
